My career has taken me to several school districts. I have had the privilege of working with Challenger Technologies in both Eaton Rapids Public Schools and Lakeview School District. They have worked in a variety of jobs from small repairs to enterprise level implementations since I met them in 2004. They handle premises cabling as well as exterior fiber optic installations. In 2010, they installed Ethernet and phone cabling in several schools as part of a large wireless Ethernet implementation.
Overall, I have been impressed with:
1. The quality of workmanship has been excellent. All work is done to code and specifications. I know that the connections will work when they are done. Period.
2. Documentation of the work process is outstanding. I always had high quality test results and as‐ builts in a format that I can easily reference if needed.
3. I like working with the company owners and project manager. They listen, have a good sense of humor, and have great collaborative and problem‐solving skills.
In my previous district, they handled several building cabling projects. Also I had them come in to finish a job for another vendor that was not performing well.
Challenger Technologies is competitively priced. But even if they weren’t the low bid on a project, I would select Challenger just for the peace of mind knowing that the cable plant will be solidly built.
