Who is Challenger Technologies?
Formed by it’s principal partners Carl Wesolek and Richard (Rick) Neil, Challenger Technologies provides a wide array of network cabling services to its customers. The partners have combined for almost 50 years of experience in the telecommunications field.
Carl spent nearly twenty-five years with Continental Cablevision and its successor, MediaOne. During his tenure with the company, Carl's responsibilities varied from coax splicer to Residential and Commercial Installation Manager, and culminating with him becoming Construction Manager for both Lansing and Jackson Michigan communities. As Construction Manager, he oversaw the rebuilding of Lansing's 1500 miles of coax and 450 miles of fiber-optic plant. Prior to co-founding Challenger, Carl spent almost four years as Vice President of Operations for International Cable & Telephone. While there, he was in charge of all construction operations for the company covering the installation and maintenance of both coax and fiber-optic wide area networks for several CATV and telecommunications firms.

The company's other partner, Rick Neil is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Telecommunications. After three years as Head Technician with Triad Communications in Albion and Marshall, Michigan, Rick went on to spend fifteen years in Jackson with Booth Communications and it's successors MediaOne and AT&T Broadband. For over half of this period, he served as Chief Technician/Technical Operations Manager with responsibilities in design and drafting, construction and maintenance of all networks, with additional duties of overseeing all field staff and operations personnel. Rick’s experience includes three years at International Cable & Telephone, where he initially served as the Construction Manager before becoming the Engineering Manager overseeing a department that was primarily involved in engineering, design, drafting and construction of fiber-optic wide area networks, including building entrances and interior routings for several telecommunications firms.
